Overview
Casting is the single fastest way to make a film feel true. We cast for character rather than credits, drawing on a wide network of North East performers — trained actors, agency talent, drama-school graduates and people who have never been on a set before.
We run self-tapes, in-person auditions, recalls and chemistry reads, and we look after performers properly through the process so they arrive on the shoot confident rather than nervous.
The network
Regional talent, seriously used
There is far more performing talent in the North East than the industry uses, and we work with it constantly — which means we can usually put a shortlist together quickly and locally rather than flying people in.
We also work with agencies nationally when a role calls for it, and we handle supporting artists, background and specialist skills where a scene needs them.
Street casting
Faces that belong to the place
Some roles are better filled by someone who has lived it. We street-cast where it serves the story, then support those performers with rehearsal and on-set direction so a first-timer can hold a scene.
Everyone is treated the same regardless of experience: clear briefs, proper contracts, honest feedback and a paid day's work.
